Rob Mactaggart (BBus), AAPI, MRICS - Director
Rob Mactaggart has wide experience in real estate including property development, portfolio management, real estate sales and acquisition, property marketing, master planning, corporate strategy, property valuation, feasibility analysis, and specialised real estate including airport real estate and self storage facilities.
After 15 years in commercial real estate sector, Rob joined Brisbane Airport Corporation in 1998, immediately after privatisation. Devising and implementing a unique airport real estate development strategy, from 1998 to 2010 Rob led BAC's landside planning, development and management business from a small portfolio to be valued in excess of $700m in 2010, outperforming listed benchmark property indexes during this time.
The experience Rob has gained has covered all facets of airport integration, landside planning and development, business attraction, and the integration of urban planning, landscape and public art into master planned mixed-use real estate development.
Identifying a lack of experienced landside advisors with extensive commercial and "hands on" development experience Rob established Mactaggart & Co Real Estate Advisory Group in mid-2010. In late 2011 Rob merged his airport advisory business with Gateway Project Partners.
Koen Rooijmans, Special Advisor, Gateway Project Partners
Koen holds a senior profile in the Australian airport and aerospace industry having held the position from July 1997 to July 2009 as the first Managing Director & CEO of the privatised Brisbane Airport Corporation Limited. Prior to that Koen led the successful bid team to buy Brisbane Airport from the Australian Federal Government.
During his leadership, Brisbane Airport has been seen as the leading airport in Australia and won many awards, such as the highly prestigious Eagle Award from the world international airlines (IATA) as the "Best Privatised Airport in the World" and was a multiple winner of the Major Airport of Australia Award. Koen's personal achievements were acknowledged when he received the Aviation Personality of the Year award from AAA (Australian Airport Association).
Koen brought a strong vision to BAC, based on his drive to turn the airport from a city airport to an Airport City. Koen was further the initiator and a driving force of the very successful Australia TradeCoast, which has revolutionised business and trade for the State of Queensland. His experience as a leader and visionary is invaluable in the generation of, and adherence to, a strong vision and strategy in the masterplanning of large scale projects and the coordination of multiple stakeholders.
