GPP Advisory
GPP Advisory is a specialist full service airport advisory business currently advising regional and metropolitan airports in Australia. We focus on creating the highest commercial returns from airports that best meets the needs of their users and community.
GPP Advisory provides the following services:
- Landside masterplanning;
- Commercial property advice;
- Strategic business planning;
- Transaction management of various revenue sources such as terminal retail, car rental, car parking, land and building assets;
- Advice on airline landing fees and charges; and
- Feasibility preparation for financial forecasting.
We work with our airside partners including Aviation Projects to provide a seamless airside + landside advisory solution.
GPP Advisory offers an important point of difference in its ability to deliver pragmatic advice which is based on a track record of principal and joint venture development at airports over many years.
GPP Advisory's principals bring a combined 18 years airport real estate experience and have delivered projects valued at >$550m since 1998. Director Rob Mactaggart is a member of the Australasian Airports Association ('AAA') Property Working Group, Convenor of the Australasian Airport Real Estate Conference, and formerly Head of Property at Brisbane Airport Corporation Limited (1998-2010). Director Hans Pearson founded GPP in 2005 and has developed commercial property projects at Brisbane and Melbourne Airports, completed consultancy services for Australian and international airport clients, and is a regular contributor to industry press and conferences.
GPP Advisory holds a Certificate of Prequalification (PQC) to undertake consultancies for the Queensland Government - PQC Registration Number: 3130A (issued 19 April 2011).
GPP Project Services
GPP-PS is a specialist airport project management firm. As part of the broader GPP Group, GPP-PS provides practical and effective advice and delivery services for airport-related infrastructure and property projects.
GPP-PS is responsible for project management of the detailed design, documentation and delivery of airport infrastructure and building projects. Director Ken Fraser works closely with the principals of GPP Advisory as a seamless component of the GPP Group's full service capability and as a reliable and important part of the group's ability to provide pragmatic advice that is capable of implementation.
GPP-PS provides project management services for the following:
- airfield expansions;
- terminal expansion;
- other infrastructure such as roads and civil works;
- carparking projects;
- commercial property projects;
- industrial property projects;
- retail property projects; and
- industrial property projects;
GPP-PS Director Ken Fraser has over 35 years experience and has delivered on-airport projects valued at >$250m. Ken's experience in the construction industry has been initially as a project quantity surveyor responsible for cost planning and project administration, then acting as the Project Manager and Superintendent responsible for the development and delivery of civil and building projects from conception to completion. Ken is a Quantity Surveyor, holds an Advanced Diploma in Building and Construction Management, is registered under the Queensland Services Building Authority Act as an Open Site Supervisor and Builder Project Management, and is an Accredited Green Star Professional (Green Star Council of Australia).

Hans Pearson (BBus, LLB) - Director
Hans conceived and implemented Gateway Project Partners in 2005. Gateway Project Partners has originated and executed successful on-airport property developments and has completed consultancy services for numerous metropolitan and regional airports in Australia and internationally. Hans is a market leader in airport property, being a regular contributor to conferences and publications about the sector.
Through Gateway Project Partners, Hans is focussed on airport property as a specialist sector that requires specialist skills. Gateway Project Partners delivers value to airport clients and partners through market-leading 'landside' masterplanning consultancy, transaction and development management, and project development services in a principal or advisory capacity.
Hans brings extensive experience in the acquisition, development, financing and management of property assets in various Australian markets across different property cycles, and has firm relationships with many of Australia's leading agency groups, developers, and consultants. Hans has acted variously as principal developer, investor, fund manager, project manager, and has completed land use and development planning work on airport, self storage and general commercial projects.
Hans holds a funds management license through his company Arrowfield Property Group (AFSL No.353500).
Rob Mactaggart (BBus), AAPI, MRICS - Director
Rob Mactaggart has wide experience in real estate including property development, portfolio management, real estate sales and acquisition, property marketing, master planning, corporate strategy, property valuation, feasibility analysis, and specialised real estate including airport real estate and self storage facilities.
After 15 years in commercial real estate sector, Rob joined Brisbane Airport Corporation in 1998, immediately after privatisation. Devising and implementing a unique airport real estate development strategy, from 1998 to 2010 Rob led BAC's landside planning, development and management business from a small portfolio to be valued in excess of $700m in 2010, outperforming listed benchmark property indexes during this time.
The experience Rob has gained has covered all facets of airport integration, landside planning and development, business attraction, and the integration of urban planning, landscape and public art into master planned mixed-use real estate development.
Identifying a lack of experienced landside advisors with extensive commercial and "hands on" development experience Rob established Mactaggart & Co Real Estate Advisory Group in mid-2010. In late 2011 Rob merged his airport advisory business with Gateway Project Partners.
Ken Fraser, Director, GPP Project Services
Ken Fraser is a highly experienced project manager and supervisor for on-airport projects as well as general commercial and industrial projects.
Ken has extensive experience in the construction industry, initially as a project quantity surveyor responsible for cost planning and project administration, then acting as the Project Manager and Superintendent responsible for the development and delivery of civil and building projects from conception to completion. Ken is also a qualified Green Building Consultant.
Ken is responsible for project management of the detailed design, documentation and delivery of airport infrastructure and building projects through GPP Project Services. Ken works closely with the principals of Gateway Project Partners as a seamless component of GPP's full service capability and as a reliable and important part of the group's ability to provide pragmatic advice that is capable of implementation.
Ken has delivered infrastructure and property projects at Brisbane Airport valued at >$250m as an external consultant.
Dr Doug Baker, Research Partner, Gateway Project Partners
Doug is a leading figure in the airport land use planning industry on a global level. Doug runs the Queensland University of Technology Aerotropolis Project and is an invited speaker and consultant at airports and industry functions around the world. Doug's particular expertise is land use planning analysis - having recently completed a study of more than 70 international airports for trends, and stakeholder analysis - having completed numerous stakeholder engagement consultancies at airports around the world.
Doug's expertise is particularly valuable for airports and airport-related property projects dealing with multiple stakeholders and their competing priorities for investment attraction and land use planning.
Taylor Gailey, Analyst, GPP Advisory
Taylor Gailey works with GPP Advisory on a part time basis while completing her university degree.
Taylor is a 4th year Property Economics student at the Queensland University of Technology, with a first minor in Regional Town Planning and a second minor in Business Management. Taylor is an active member within the QUT community and is a member of the Next Generation Property Group, a student member of the UDIA, participated in the annual RICS Inter-University Challenge Moot Debates last year, and is involved annually with reviewing the QUT Property Economics Course with RICS representatives.
